Privacy Policy for Onset
Last updated: June 9, 2026. Onset is a private caffeine timing
tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what Onset stores, what it
does not collect, and how to contact us with privacy questions.
Summary
Onset v1 is local-only. It does not require an account, does not sync
your caffeine history to a cloud service, does not use analytics, and
does not track you across apps or websites.
Information stored on your device
Onset stores the caffeine entries you create, including source,
amount, time, and optional notes. This history stays on your device
unless you choose to export it.
Onset also stores app preferences locally, such as appearance,
caffeine assumptions, bedtime assumptions, and onboarding
completion state. These settings use local device storage such as
UserDefaults.
Information Onset does not collect
Onset v1 does not collect account or login information, cloud-synced caffeine history, analytics events, advertising identifiers, cross-app or cross-website tracking data, or subscription/in-app purchase data.
Onset does not sell or share personal data.
Exporting and deleting data
Onset includes local export tools so you can export your caffeine
history. To delete Onset data, delete entries in the app where
available or remove the app from your iPhone. Removing the app
deletes its local app data according to iOS behavior.
Caffeine estimates and health
Onset shows caffeine estimates for awareness only. Caffeine timing
and half-life can vary by person. Onset is not a medical device and
does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Children
Onset is not intended for children under 13. Onset does not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Onset changes. If future versions add
accounts, cloud sync, analytics, subscriptions, or other data
processing, this policy will be updated before those changes are
released.
