Information stored on your device

Onset stores the caffeine entries you create, including source, amount, time, and optional notes. This history stays on your device unless you choose to export it.

Onset also stores your optional restfulness ratings and app preferences locally, such as appearance, caffeine assumptions, bedtime assumptions, and onboarding completion state.

Apple Health sleep data

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Onset requests read-only access to sleep records. Onset uses recent sleep duration on your iPhone to compare your logged caffeine with your own sleep and restfulness patterns.

Onset does not write to Apple Health, upload health data, or store copies of Apple Health sleep samples. You can change access at any time in the Health app.

Information Onset does not collect

Onset does not collect account or login information, cloud-synced caffeine history, analytics events, advertising identifiers, cross-app or cross-website tracking data, or subscription and in-app purchase data.

Onset does not sell or share personal data.

Exporting and deleting data

Onset includes local export tools so you can export your caffeine history. To delete Onset data, delete entries in the app where available or remove the app from your iPhone. Removing the app deletes its local app data according to iOS behavior.

Caffeine estimates and health

Onset shows caffeine estimates and personal associations for awareness only. Caffeine timing, sleep, and individual responses vary. An association does not establish that caffeine caused a sleep result. Onset is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Children

Onset is not intended for children under 13. Onset does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Onset changes. If a future version adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, subscriptions, or other data processing, this policy will be updated before those changes are released.
